If you combine three or more, it is important to choose the same colours and that the patterns must be of the same design.
Wear your tie with pride and make sure, that the knot of your tie is close to the shirt's collar without any visible gap in between. The ties' tip should rest just above the waistband or belt on your trousers whereas the tail of your tie should not be seen. And if you are up for it, try different knots from time to time. For instance, tie a half or a double Windsor knot to change your apparel slightly.
